IF SHE ONLY HAD A HEART

It's rare that I'll write a song that's negative -- and in this case, maybe even a bit on the
nasty side -- about someone. But sometimes you've just gotta write what you see. The gal who the song is based on actually had many redeeming qualities, but....  Steve H.

1. She's like the Tin Man in "The Wizard of Oz" / (If she only had a heart)
She’s got the claws, I can show you the scars / (If she only had a heart)
She's got the looks and she's got the kissing / (If she only had a heart)
But you know, there's only one thing missing (If she only had a heart)
It really is a cryin' shame / and I guess she's not to blame
If she only had a heart

2. Her alphabet begins and ends with "I" / (If she only had a heart)
She'll say she loves you, but you know that's a lie / (If she only had a heart)
It took a little awhile, then I figured it out/ (If she only had a heart)
She can't understand what love is all about / (If she only had a heart)
You'll love the way she'll make you feel / trouble is it just ain't real...

3. There never was a promise that she didn't love to make / (If she only had a heart)
But there never was a promise that she wasn't gonna break / (If she only had a heart)
No matter what, you've got to remember / (If she only had a heart)
That in the end, it's all about her / (If she only had a heart)
She'll stand back and watch you cry / and never even bat an eye
'Cause just like that old Tin Man / there's a missing part
If she only had a heart
If she only had a heart.
