"Mysterious Ways, Part Six" is the final entry in what I call The Mysterious Ways Saga. (At least so far. These things tend to start writing themselves when I'm not looking, so there may very well be a Part Seven at some point in the future.) This one is the dark, brooding, ominous member of the MW family, filled with plagues, car wrecks, madness, raging fires, and destruction at every turn. I hope you'll enjoy it! - Steve H.

1)  All the streets are silent / everything shut down
Can't even hear a whisper / the plague has come to town
And somewhere on the outskirts / the Reaper hones his blade
The debt is comin' due / the Piper must be paid

And me, I've got more questions / than answers these days
You see, the Lord works / in mysterious ways

2)  There's a wreck out on the highway / I can see the flashing lights
And hear the sirens screaming / in the corners of the night
It's an everyday disaster / nobody's gonna care
And if you're lookin' for an answer / you won't find one anywhere

You'll just hear some voices babblin' / all the usual cliches
I guess the Lord works / in mysterious ways

3)  There's fire on the mountain / smoke in the air
A wild orange sky / and flames everywhere
There's mass hallucination / and madness on the land
And yonder stands the villain / with a match in his hand

Seems like the whole damn world / is burnin' up in the blaze
Oh, the Lord works / in mysterious ways

4)  There's nothin' I could tell you / that you'd want to hear
So I'll keep my mouth shut / and sit right here
You're hellbent on destruction / that's for sure
And I don't know what ails you / but I'm guessin' there's no cure

And I've had this real bad feelin' now / for a couple of days
Oh, the Lord works / in mysterious ways
