One of the main stops on the Nashville All-Stars' tour of Germany
in September 2006 was Magdeburg. Joel Alan Lehman and I had
had played there in 2005, and we now return pretty much every
year. (Our most recent performance there was in August 2008.)
On our 2006 visit, we played at the city's opera house, and went
over to City Hall to meet the Oberburgermeister (or Lord Mayor)
of Magdeburg, Dr. Lutz Trümper. Amazingly, he was apparently
re-elected soon afterwards, despite this photo of him hangin' out
