I've had the great pleasure of backing the legendary "First Lady of Rock'n'Roll",
Wanda Jackson for several gigs in Nashville & Memphis in recent years. The
above photo was taken at Nashville's Belcourt Theater during Wanda's show
at the Americana Music Conference. I was playing the harmonica and singing
harmony; Chris James was at the keyboards; Walter Egan was on guitar; and
Kathy Burkly was on drums. (Band members Gail Lloyd and Supe Granda were
out of camera range to the right.) I'm glad to report that Wanda was inducted
-- and rightly so -- into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame in 2009.
