This picture was taken when I was playing at a weekend-long festival
in Austria around 1998 or so. We were playing on a Saturday night,
but during the afternoon I wandered over to the festival site to see
if anything interesting was going on. Somehow or other, I wound up
being the volunteer in a knife-throwing act. Not something I planned
on, I must say, but something I'd now recommend that everyone do
once -- not necessarily twice! -- in his or her lifetime. Luckily for me,
the knife-throwing guy in the fringed shirt was really good.
