This was the "official" promotional
photo for the very first
European tour that I ever did,
back in 1991. Teddy Glenn
(on the left) and I played
something like seven weeks over
in Sweden and England, along
with one festival in Scotland.
A whole lot of duo gigs --
sometimes two of 'em a day -- plus
a bunch with a band. It was
an interesting experience. We
went down into a copper mine
in Sweden, performed on an
overnight ferry with a band
from Bulgaria whose drummer
was named Elvis, stayed in
fancy hotels, slept on peoples'
floors, played who knows how
many shows, and drove our
booking agent to distraction.
(And vice-versa.) I don't think
Teddy and I talked to each
other for three or four months
after the tour was over. We
did finally make up, though.
