"We're In
Love" was written for the first album that I recorded after moving
to Nashville
way back when, Push Comes To Shove. I'm not really much of a co-writer by nature, but Larry Shaw and I seemed to click, and we wrote a few pretty good things together. The idea for "We're In Love" was his... then I came up with the music and we worked out the lyrics together. It's just a nice, down-to-earth country song. Maybe a little old-fashioned. I cut it as a duet with a really good singer we knew named Kim Winters. - Steve H. |
1. I know we're not the perfect couple
They say that opposites attract
And though we've had our share of
trouble
We're still together / As a matter
of fact
chorus: We're in love, lose
or win / We're in love, through thick and thin
Side by side / Even when times get
tough
'We may fight and we may fuss / We
may yell and we may cuss
But when push comes to shove/ We're
in love
2. Like the sunshine and the moonlight
We're as different as can be
And we're not always on the same
side
But when it comes to love / We agree
chorus: We're in love, lose
or win / We're in love, through thick and thin
Side by side / Even when times get
tough
'We may fight and we may fuss / We
may yell and we may cuss
But when push comes to shove/ We're
in love
bridge: Through it all our
love remains the same
It's the one thing that will never
change
chorus: We're in love, lose
or win / We're in love, through thick and thin
Side by side / Even when times get
tough
'We may fight and we may fuss / We
may yell and we may cuss
But when push comes to shove/ We're
in love.
