Steve
Haggard's background and wide range of experience in the music industry
make him ideally suited when it comes to advising and guiding artists
who are either just starting out in the business, or are trying to reach
the next level.
Very few people have expertise
in as many different aspects of the business as Steve Haggard. A working
musician since he was
in his teens, and an accomplished singer/songwriter, Steve has released
six CDs of his own, and has performed both as a solo artist and with his
own band in some 17 countries.
In the recording studio,
he has produced more than 50 artists & bands in a wide range of musical
genres, as well as doing work as a session musician here in Nashville.
In addition, Steve has
written columns about the workings of the music business and artist development
for several magazines,
and he has been a guest lecturer for seminars, college music business courses,
and songwriter associations.
He is currently at work on a book especially for indie artists, to published
in Spring 2012, and also
co-hosts a weekly radio program on Nashville's WRFN-FM.
"With Steve's assistance
and connections, I've also done seven European tours over the last four
years",
says Joel Alan Lehman,
"...Germany, France, England, Lithuania, Latvia, and more on the horizon!"
Finally, as one of the
founders of Wild Oats Records back in 1988, Steve understands the practical
and the business sides of the industry in a way that very few artists do.
He has booked tours everywhere from Sweden to California, runs his own
music publishing company, has licensed his CDs in Europe and South America,
and has a wealth of knowledge about how to survive -- and thrive! -- in
the music biz.
Singer/songwriter Garry
Jackson adds that Steve "believed in me and supported me with production,
promotion, and various
touring and performance opportunities, here an in Europe".
"I learned the business
part of the music business in self-defense", says Haggard. "I realized
that if you're truly serious about having a music career these days, you
need to understand how the business works. If you don't, it's simply much
less likely that you'll be successful... and you're setting yourself
up for a lot of unnecessary expense, heartache and disappointment".
"Steve answered alll
of my questions", says recording artist Kimberly King, "and due
to his good advice,
I've received a lot
of extra royalty checks".
Whether you just have
a few questions about the music business, or would like his help in setting
up an intelligent and realistic gameplan for your career, Steve
Haggard can give you some invaluable advice... and very likely save you
both money and heartache.
